Weekly Re-Up: Bob Marley Day, The Future Of R&B, Olympic Booty & More

Listen, it's Friday, we get it. Nobody really wants to do anything that involves using your brain. So the new "Weekly Re-Up" will provide you with both the biggest "Fails" and the most awesome "General Awesomeness", as well as some other must see shit from the week, and of course some boobs. We will also be including a "Weekend Rewind" selection to give you something to listen to this weekend. It's a whole lot of everything.

Now let's get started...

General Awesomeness:

Flipmode In Space:

Okay, so I know that these are usually something that happened after Obama got in office, but it's too good to pass up. Also, i recently rediscovered and have watched it wayyy to many times this week so I'm counting it. The other night I couldn't sleep so I started down the black hole which is Youtube. Before I knew it the sun was coming up and I was watching old re-runs of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. I was about to call it a night when I vaguely remembered watching an episode with Busta Rhymes. Sure enough, Busta appeared Space Ghost Coast to Coast, all the way back in 2001.

For those that don't know, Space Ghost Coast To Coast was a show from the 90's (originally Space Ghost was a 60's cartoon) and was placed on Adult Swim when it first started. Basically each episode is like a mock interview. They would conduct an interview with celebrities while in character and later they would edit it around and create a story behind it. Now you have the context to appreciate the weirdness.

Obviously it's scripted, but the sheer novelty of seeing Busta Rhymes on the show is still fucking amazing. It's just so fucking random. I'm like 99% certain that Busta is acting, but part of me really wants to believe he was high as shit. Some of you will probably hate this, but if weird, random Adult Swim kinda stuff is your thing than it will make your week. In conclusion, judging from how he looked then versus what he looks like now, I can now confirm that Busta Rhymes is clearly on steroids.

Rob-demption Song:
Between Miley, Bieber, Drake, Kanye we have plenty of Weekly Re-Up regulars, but the king might just be Rob Ford. Okay maybe it's still Drake but now, with 2 fails already under his belt in 2014, Rob is taking over the Awesomeness' too. His awesomeness debut is one for the ages. I know many of you thing his usual antics are awesome but you simply can't have an elected official denying oral sex and attacking old ladies. However, in this case I'm going to make an exception because Bob Marley Day.

That was from 2013, but just yesterday, Rob Ford declared February 6 Bob Marley Day.

"WHEREAS each year on February 6, we honour the legacy of Robert (Bob) Nesta Marley, an influential musician, advocate for human rights and international ambassador of peace.

First on a lighter note, HOLY BALLS THIS IS AWESOME! There isn't a single person in the entire world who doesn't like Bob Marley, it is a scientific fact; which is exactly why I don't even need to explain just how fucking cool this is. Also isn't he also pretty much admitting he smokes weed too? Next, March 6 is going to be Big Lebowski day; I can't wait to see what he has in store for April 20th.  What are the odds he just got really high and decided it was Bob Marley day? Okay enough jokes. It's actually pretty cool. Bob Marley was more than a musician he was a religious and political activist who was recognized by the Jamaican government and the United Nations, so he really does deserve the day. Also, Three Little Birds.

Best Of The Rest:
The Best Of Will Ferrell's Classy Reddit AMA For Charity
Just Trey Parker and Matt Stone cracking each other up in the recording studio
Producer in the Trunk' Is like Bangbus for Beats
Action Bronson Smokes Weed Onstage, Shoves Security Guard

Fails Of The Week:

Do Evoloution Baby!
Little history for ya. Wayyyyy back in 1925, a teacher named John Scopes was in hot water for teach the theory of evolution in school. You might have heard about it; it's best known as Scopes Monkey Trial (sadly the trial as not conducted with real monkeys). That was in 1925 when, you know when it was only Ford Model T's. Well in 2014, the age of the hybrid car, we are still debating Evoloution...still. Bill Nye, better known as Bill Nye The Science Guy, traveled to the Creationist Museum (A.K.A Crazytown) in Petersburg, Kentucky to debate Ken Ham a creationist "scientist" who didn't have a dope TV show. You can read all about it here or watch it below.

Not to get into a big theological or scientific debate but if you don't think the theory of evolution, that the worlds best minds study on daily basis, you clearly don't know how to live in the 21st century. I'm not saying god doesn't exists and I'm not saying he does. I'm simply saying there is actual proof that the world is older than the Bible says it is and that a flood of the world did not happen. It's baffling to me that We still have to have debates about the matter. Besides what's the point? People like Ken Hamm have been denying logic, reason and physical proof for centuries so why will this change anything. I highly recommend you watch the debate (and this Pearl Jam video), you might learn something and will definitely get a few laughs at Hamm's expense.

Ice Ice Baby

This guy has been on my fail radar for a minute now, but hasn't dropped any bombs recently...until this week. It is my pleasure to introduce you to the R&B crooner of the future. Only the most elite of horrible songs get a nod in the fail section. To my knowledge "Timber" is the only one that I have done, but this makes it look like fucking "Bohemian Rhapsody". I do have to give him credit though, he gives falsetto a new meaning. Also I give him credit because his dancing is perfect for his herky-jerky, random style. Look at those moves! Guarantee he taught Bruno Mars how to boogie. Be sure to play "how long can you listen to the fish" with your friends. Whoever can get through the whole song wins (but really loses). Also I need a Bangs & IceJJFish collab and I need it now. For the record this is still better than Young Thug.

Worst Of The Rest:
Here's Vin Diesel Dancing to "Drunk in Love"
Restaurant Manager Is Very Unhappy About Getting Her Permit Revoked
Lady Who Just Lit Olympic Flame Tweeted A Racist Picture Of The Obamas
Photographic Proof That Sochi Is A Godforsaken Hellscape Right Now

Weekend Soundtrack:

Between Cilvia and Jamla Is The Squad I have had plenty of music to listen to recently. The amount of times I have listened to Rashad is bordering on unhealthy so before I run it into the ground, I need to change it up a little bit. A project I have been meaning to get to but haven't had the chance yet is Dally Auston's WestsidEP. The Savemoney emcee is my pick to be the next to blow (him or Joey Purp) and I'm excited to see if he can deliver. I did check out "BANG" with Mick Jenkins (who is going to takeover 2014) and was very impressed so I'm ready to see if the rest of the EP is as dope.

Comment Of The Week:

On What Makes You Like (or Hate) a Rapper? RefinedHype regular RapPipeAddict, who also has the best avatar in RH Nation, chimed in with this gem.

I think every man plays with his balls at some point in the average day

Out of context, it sounds weird, but is also probably totally true. Astute observation RapPipeAddict.

Booty Of The Week:

With the Olympics kicking off, it's time to watch sports we only watch 4 times a year and look at pictures of girls in bikinis in the snow. Of course, you are probably rooting for your home nation, but be sure to cheer on these ladies as they skate, ski, and curl their way into our hearts. From the good old USA, my favorite it is Snowboarder Clair Bidez (above) and from Russia, Anna Sidorova (below), who is the only person on the world who could make curling sexy.
