Weekly Re-Up: Lil B vs. KD, The White (Not) Chief Keef, Rita Ora (Not) Topless & More

Posted by Nathan S. on 05/02/14 | Filed under Top Stories, Weekly Re-Up, General Awesomeness, Fails

Listen, it's Friday, we get it. Nobody really wants to do anything that involves using your brain. So the new "Weekly Re-Up" will provide you with both the biggest "Fails" and the most awesome "General Awesomeness", as well as some other must see shit from the week, and of course some boobs. We will also be including a "Weekend Soundtrack" selection to give you something to listen to this weekend. It's a whole lot of everything.

Lucas is out this week, so I'll be taking over "Re-Up" duties. Let's get started...

General Awesomeness:

Protect Lil B At All Costs

I've had a long, complicated relationship with Lil B. For a while he was the RefinedHype consensus pick for the Worst Rapper Alive, and I couldn't disagree. Then, over time, I learned to appreciate the lil man for who he is; a internet personality.

But this week? This was the week I fully converted to the #taskforce. Lil B's "Fuck Kevin Durant" video, and corresponding curse, was funny when it happened, but now that the Thunder not only might get bounced in the first round, but Durant is under intense scrutiny...holy sweet baby jesus, could the curse of the Based God this powerful?

AND....

As if someone becoming the center of a running storyline in the NBA playoffs wasn't enough, Lil B pulled Katy Perry this week after she appeared to thoroughly enjoy his new video.

The mere fact that this, frankly, completely random dude from the Bay Area has effectively forced some of the biggest media outlets and stars in the world to talk about him is fucking incredible. I don't know how he's doing it if he doesn't, in fact, have some sort of divine force intervening on his behalf. Long live Lil B, the world is far more entertaining with him in it.

And I mean that seriously.

Everything Is Incredible

Can I somehow transition from Lil B jokes to a documentary about a Honduran man with polio who builds a helicopter from spare parts? No? Well...I'm fucking doing it anyway because this doc is just that good. I know I could have gone with a lot of other awesome options this week, but amidst all the craziness of this week, I thought we could all truly use some inspiration.

Fails of the Week

SupperFightclub

How doth this video fail me? Let me count the ways.

First, a quick recap. Some of T.I.'s entourage show up to Supperclub in L.A. and are informed they won't be allowed inside. They try to flex, and pretty quickly get stomped out by security. The cops show up to deal with the entourage versus security fight. T.I. and Game and posse (and Ab-Soul?) show up and confront the cops, who frankly look fucking terrified. T.I. and Game and posse (and Ab-Soul?) are informed that it was, in fact, security that beat up their man, said posse goes after security for round two. Cops breath a giant sigh of relief.

Just a cornucopia of humanity at its best. A round of applause for everyone involved.

The White Chief Keef Rapper

Let's be clear, I'm not writing about this because it's bad. I mean, yes, of course I'd rather stick my nut sack in a crocodile pond than listen to Brewski's "Chauffer", but there's a lot of terrible hip-hop out there, and 99% of it's not worth my time.

However, not only is this bad, but it's been making the round on the interwebs under a "Is This the White Chief Keef?" theme. Yeah, you can shut all of the fucks up. Other than the fact that Brewski is also from Chicago, he has absolutely nothing in common with Keef. It would have been far more accurate to call him the White Chief Keef if Everything That Makes Chief Keef Chief Keef Was Removed.

So I think you know what time is is. After this moment, Brewski boycott. You'll never read the White Chief Keef if Everything That Makes Chief Keef Chief Keef Was Removed's name was on this site again. You're welcome.

Weekend Soundtrack

I just had Locksmith on this week's podcast, and I truly believe it's one of the best I've ever done, in no small part because his "A Thousand Cuts" album is fucking excellent. If you're going to listen to anything this weekend, this is a hell of a place to start. Stream it via the mothership

Plus, the man can freestyle.

Comment of the Week

"Ive never been so happy and sad in my life. I've just seen Rihannas boobs. The mystery to the real size is finally over, I should be happy. But I can't help but miss the mystery that was Rihanna boobs" - Ryan, from "I'm Retiring From the Rihanna Boob Game

Amen Ryan, I think you're speaking for a lot of us.

Booty of the Week:

A bit of a tough call on this one. I was going to go with Rita Ora's new topless pics, but I just philosophically couldn't. You know how a company can't call its food "organic" unless it meets certain standards? Or it can't be labelled champagne unless it comes from Champange, France? We need some regulations around the word "topless". As far as I'm concerned, if you label something a "topless" pic, that means full-on, total, uncovered boob(s). Girl's not wearing a shirt or bra, but her back's turned? Not topless. She's wearing a see-through bra, but she's still wearing a bra? Not topless? So yeah, those Rita Ora pics are all kinds of not-really topless

Instead, here's some giant jiggling booties from Goldlink's "Ay Ay" video. You're welcome and enjoy your weekend.
