Drake & Migos’ “Versace” Gets Ethered by Best Rap Spoof Since “Shawt Bus Shawty” Posted by Lucas Garrison on 07/22/13 | Filed under Humor, Drake, General Awesomeness, Migos

Pop quiz time: who should be more embarrassed? Me, due to the fact that someone who works for two hip-hop websites had never heard of Migos and, in turn, “Versace” or Migos because it took a satire/spoof from the (online) famous Broken Equipment Productions to introduce me? Or Drake and Migos considering a spoof video promptly proceeded to completely ether their remix?

There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but a few stand out to me. First the line “Soulja Boy did this beat 2 years ago, damn that hurts don't it” is gold. You know if you are doing anything even remotely similar to Soulja, you probably aren’t headed in the right direction; it makes it even worse that the beat is Soulja Boy’s two year old garbage. My other favorite line is pho-Drake’s line “Screaming ‘no new friends’ but how come I'm around every new artist?” where it cuts to Drizzy buying Kendrick’s album at Target and also purchasing Cole’s (who looks like he has a sever sinus infection). There are plenty more golden moments but why ruin them. They are best heard with a clean slat; and then over and over again.

In my opinion. This satire runs along the same logic as Froggy Fresh. I would rather here something that is supposed to be bad, but is fucking hilarious than listen to songs where the whole hook reads as follows, “Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace Versace, Versace Versace, Versace Versace Versace, Versace Versace, Versace Versace.” Sure the rapping is bad, but its not like real Migos is much better. Give me shitty and funny over shitty and shitty 10 times out of ten.

Nathan Update: I open the debate...this is the best rap spoof since "Shawt Bus Shawty"...OF ALL TIME IN THE HISTORY OF RAP SPOOF VIDEOS PERIOD.
