Weekly Re-Up: Eminem vs. Hot Stylz, Biebz vs. a Brazilian Hooker &...BoobsPosted by Lucas G. on 11/08/13 | Filed under Humor, Fails of the Week, Weekly Re-Up, General Awesomeness, Fails |

For the past 150 years (rounding up), RefinedHype has been bringing joy and laughter to the dismal day that is Friday with "General Awesomeness" and "Fails Of The Week". Well, now we're thinking it may be time to open a new chapter in RefinedHype history and combine…"General Awesomeness" and "Fails"…IN THE SAME DAMN PIECE!!! Still with me? Good. Allow me to introduce our new Friday piece, the "Weekly Re-Up"*.
Listen, it's Friday, we get it. Nobody really wants to do anything that involves using your brain. So the "Weekly Re-Up" will provide you with the biggest "Fail" and the most awesome "General Awesomness", as well as some other must see shit from the week, and of course some boobs. We will also be including a "Weekend Rewind" selection to give you something to listen to this weekend. Now let's get started...
General Awesomeness: Eminem Poops Out Slim Shady
Since "MMLP2" leaked a little more than a week ago, it's been all Eminem, all the time, so what better way to end all the Shady buzz than with one final tidbit? You’ve seen "8 Mile" eleven million times so you thought you knew everything there was to know about Eminem’s life? Think again. In an interview with Grantland, Jeff Bass, Eminem’s long standing friend and collaborator, gives us insight into the early years of Marshall’s life including a gem about how (or more importantly where) Marshall came up with his alter ego.
We pressed up Infinite. We might have pressed up maybe five hundred, a thousand records tops. We couldn’t give them away. Nobody was feeling it. We don't know why. Then Marshall, I think he was sitting on the toilet making a poop, and he came up with the alter ego. He came into the studio, talking about this alter ego that he has now. And all the boys in D12, they all had alter egos too. It was just a great thing to start the new project with. And he went with that.
So there you have it, one of the most recognizable names and characters in hip-hop was spawned by sittin' on da toilet. Also, on a totally unrelated yet important note, “making a poop” is now going to be part of my every day vernacular. Is that even correct? I’m no doctor, but it seems to me that the poop is already made, and the act of pooping is getting rid of what was already made, really makes you think...so this what I went to college for huh? Back on the subject, the interview is pretty dope and if you are a hip-hop historian, you will definitely want to check it out.
Fail Of The Week: Ether 2.0
Sticking with the Eminem theme, it seems like no matter how old he gets, Eminem can’t go two seconds without pissing someone off. Except this time nobody gives a shit about the people he pissed off. Apparently, hip-hop trio Hot Stylz, took offense to Eminem using "their" flow on “Rap God”. And are none too pleased. Now for those asking “Who the fuck Hot Stylz?!?!” (which was me an hour ago), they kinda had a hit in 2008 with “Looking Boy”. As a response to Em, they released this diss track, which, unsurprisingly, sucked.
Parts of this song actually had me laughing, like when they talk about how they are one hit-wonders but other than that it was corny and lame. I don’t know what the fuck they are thinking by dissing Em? Eminem has clowned far better rappers than Hot Stylz, and it's kind of sad to see them trying so hard and still not even register as a blip on Em’s radar. If this was a respectable emcee, this kind of diss would be big news, but coming from Hot Stylz it's almost sad…and definitely worthy of the "Fail of the Week". Have they not heard this??

Weekend Soundtrack:
Maybe it's because Eminem has been the talk of the town, but I have heard little to no buzz about JMSN’s "†Pllajë†" EP and it drives me crazy. Does nobody know how good this guy is? Am I the only one? Does anyone notice this?! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!. Anyhow, the album is really dope. JMSN has a Weeeknd-y vibe to him, but adds some stronger, more traditional R&B roots that makes this a really unique listen. I haven’t had the chance to really chew on the album, but this weekend I will, and so should you. Check out the full stream via the mothership.
Oh Yeah…Did You Think We Would Forget?
Boobs because boobs are awesome! Have a good weekend y’all!
* Really old school RefinedHype heads will recognize the name "Weekly Re-Up", which we're resurrecting in a very different form.
