It's been a crazy last few days in hip-hop. On one hand we have the most pop of pop-rap collaborations on the new Timberlake record, on the other some classic Kweli underground shit. On one hand the new "hot" Future and Drake, on the other this rap nerdery-infused "Unorthodox" joint from Joey Bada$$ and DJ Premier. It's all hip-hop, just different sides of the same coin - although I greatly prefer the "Unorthodox" side of the coin.

Really there was no way things could have gone wrong here. Joey's proven that he can rhyme like he hopped out of a "1999" time machine a long time ago, and DJ Premiere proved that he's one of the best producers of all-time...what, two decades ago? You hear those classic Primo scratches on the opening and you know it's on.

I'll leave that Future song for the radio. Rap nerds unite, enjoy...
