Rejected Treatments for the Migos’ “Versace” VideoPosted by Lucas G. on 10/01/13 | Filed under Humor, Migos |

Let’s be real here, It has been months since anyone cared about Migos' “Versace” and most of the attention, at least from me, came from the “Versace” spoof; it is never a good sign when the spoof of your song ends up being better than the original. In fact, I have listened to the spoof more than the actual song. Now I know what you are thinking, how could a song this groundbreaking and innovate not get the visual treatment? Well, finally, more than two months after the “Versace” buzz died down, Migos dropped the earth shattering visuals for their hit single:
By “earth shattering” I of course mean the most stereotypical music video ever made in the history of stereotypical music videos. Liquor, white girls twerking, a mansion, car and of course Versace; this video has it all. So why the two month delay? Well for a video of this magnitude, you need to make sure you have the perfect concept, so not just any treatment will do. RefinedHype got our hands on some of the rejected treatments for the “Versace” video and considering the ideas the ran through, it’s a wonder it only took two months to get the video out.
Treatment 1: Versace Pirates
As the fly-over camera pans across a vast ocean we see a gold-plated pirate shit in the distance. Upon a zoom in of the ship we se a sail with the Versace logo where the Jolly Roger would be and the ships figurehead is Donatella Versace engulfed in golden snakes (perhaps she would play the role as she already looks like petrified wood)… at the helm is Quavo, rocking a velvet pirate hat, a Louis Vuitton eye patch, satin parachute pants, and a pair of Reebok Pump slippers; of course he also has a comically large golden sword holstered in his custom plaid sheath.
In the crows nest at the top of the sail is Takeoff, who is not clothed but has draped four runway models around himself for protection and comfort. He takes out his Oakley spyglass, spots a large Versace cargo ship in the distance. Quavo immediately steers changes course to the ship and below deck, Offset, startled wakes up pushing aside underfed models and Great Danes (dyed gold of course) as he attempts to rise form his waterbed filled with Rozay.
The crew, consisting of runway models dressed in tattered robes from Versace’s 1996 summer collection, begin to load the cannons full of champagne and Ciroc bottles. The finish just in time and as they attack, Migos swings from their ship onto the pirate ship. Dance fighting their way through dozens of fakes and lames, they finally make it to the captains quarters where the old, staunchly white dude with a massive beard quivers in the corner. They grab him, turn him upside down and shake him until he drops all the plans for the new line of Versace diapers and a key that will open a sealed off hole in the ground. They open the hole only to find a tiger with diamond encased teeth. The tiger begins to growl, as if it is going to attack, but Offset steps face to face with him giving him a death glare as he pours a shot. The tiger immediately bows and accepts the trio as its new masters.
They all hop on board the tiger, and sail off into the sunset with a whole new bounty of Versace products….the end?
Treatment 2: Migos Thee Kings
Fade in to Migos wondering across the desert. As they wonder the desert with the song blaring in the background, suddenly the song is cut off (cure record scratch sound) and a blinding bright light shines form the heavens and in the sky the angel of Aaliyah appears. With her heavenly vocals she lets them know a child savior of hip-hop has been born and they must follow the twerking star until the find him.
As the follow Miley Cyrus twerking in the night sky, they eventually come across a parked Range Rover sittin’ on spinners. In the trunk is the mother and a small little baby huddled together. The three kings lay down their gifts of Versace, Versace and Versace. Moved by their kindness the hip-hop (sweet) baby Jesus begins to make it rain as Old Testament strippers and gangsters alike come out for a party of Biblical proportions. The video ends with Migos having to change the baby's Versace diaper.
(Note: Possible protest from Christian groups?)
Treatment 3: Migos epic blowout at Versace headquarters with fireworks, peacocks, giant aquariums, models, actors, and political leaders (directed by James Cameron).
Canceled due to lack of support and cooperation from both Versace and James Cameron.
Well, there you have it, a piece of hip-hop history brought to you exclusively by RefinedHype. Who knew there was so much more to this song? Years from now, when Migos is being inducted into the music Hall of Fame, this will go down as one of the most important discoveries ever. Somewhere there's a parallel universe in which the Migos Pirates video was actually made - I wish I lived in that universe.
