Here’s Video of Kanye West On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Let’s Discuss…. Posted by Lucas G. on 10/09/13 | Filed under Videos, Debates, Kanye West

Sweet baby jesus! After watching Kanye West on Jimmy Kimmel, I feel like I need a drink; that was quite something. It is literally minutes after it, and I missed a little bit of it, but hearing Kanye speak like that was fascinating.  I don’t have a transcript or video of it yet (Update: full video is below) but I don’t need one to know that everyone will want to talk about this. Like we do with albums, we are giving you guys a forum to discuss the interview, because as Kanye said he “breaks media” whenever he says or does anything, the world wants to talk about it.

Kanye gets a lot of shit from everyone, even from us here (pretty regularly), but one thing you can’t deny is his passion. I need to re-watch it and see all the quotes for a more substantive analysis, but what I was left with was how blown away I was by his passion…for everything. Say what you want about how he dresses, how he talks, if he sounds like a crazy person, but it all comes from a place of passion and desire for greatness. Kanye is more passionate about his music and “brand” than any of us are about anything. There is an enigmatic spark in him that makes him great. He is an incredible artist who pushes boundaries, experiments, and always demands the best of himself, but it is that same spark that also makes him such a wild, notorious character. He might be over the top sometimes, but you can’t help yourself but to be drawn in.

A lot of what he said can be taken many different ways, and can seem really out there but regardless show you feel about him, you have to acknowledge his genuine love for his craft. It is rare to see someone at the top of his or her craft want to do more not for money or fame but because they want to be great and wont settle for anything less and Kanye is that if nothing else.

Lets discuss, shall we???
