Jay-Z vs. Lil Wayne “Beef” is Back On, Let’s Debate Who Would Win a Fight

Posted by Lucas G. on 07/01/13 | Filed under Humor, Lil Wayne, Debates, Jay-Z, Beef
With just three days until Jay-Z drops Magna Carta Holy Grail, needless to say, I am excited; thank god he didn’t announce the album a few months ago because the wait would be unbearable, but I digress. While no single has been released, tidbits of info have been released; mainly in the form of lyrics. From these sneak peeks we have learned, MCHG will feature some inspiration from Nirvana (“ Smells Like Teen Spirit”) and REM ( “Losing My Religion”). Jigga has also given us a lyrical snippet of “Versus” and “BBC”. While anything Magna Carta related will make waves, the new lyric sheet for “La Familia” should make an extra big splash.

INSERT KEYWORDS

The reason this lyric sheet will make an extra special impact? There is a dig in there at Lil Wayne. On the Carter IV (“I’m Good” to be exact), Weezy said, Kidnap your bitch, get that how much you love your lady money, a dig at an earlier dig Jigga took at Birdman; they both sound like bickering old ladies. Rule number 1, don’t mess with the B; to defend his wife's honor, Jay shot back on “La Familia”

[blank] Wanna kidnap wifey/Good luck with that bruh/You must gonna hide your whole family/What you think we wearing black for/Ready for that war / Ready for that war ready / You ain't ready, yo, you radio/ You ain’t really ready

In my opinion, this beef is utterly ridiculous. Both emcees are too busy plugging Mountain Dew getting kicked off Mountain Dew sponsorships and repping athletes to retaliate. And even if they had the time what are they gonna do? Sparkling water fight? I don’t think this is manufactured, but it is pretty pointless considering they both are too famous and have too much money to actually go to “war” (whatever the hell that means). If you want to respond, fine, but do it creatively. How bout you mock Jigga’s sports endeavors or Wayne’s rock album instead of saying you are going kidnap/kill the other; at least it would be funny and actually semi-embarrassing. Saying you are going to kill the other person or kidnap their wife is dumb because neither one would "bust a grape in a fruit fight."

While the whole fight is pointless, it doesn’t mean we cant have some fun with it. Lets discuss, hypothetically of course, who would win in a fight; Jay or Weezy. Jay-Z at 6’2” has 8 inches (and probably 50-75 pounds) on Wayne but Weezy was just in prison and probably picked up a thing or two, plus the numbing effect of the lean has to make punches hurt less. While I chose Jay-Z based on the size advantage and Jay-Z’s veteran instincts, Nathan foolishly picked Weezy. After a long debate (where we somehow got to Memphis Bleek breastfeeding Blue Ivy) we decided it would be better to turn it over to you Refined Hype Nation. So who you got in a straight-up, clean fight between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne?

Nathan Update: Quick ground rules. We're talking a straight up fight, no weapons, no entourage. Hova and Lil Wayne alone in an empty room, no holds barred, winner is the one who comes out alive. Personally I got Wayne, he's got that lean, crazy, spider monkey energy. I don't think Jay's opened his own car door in ten years, let alone worked out, let alone fought another human being. My money's on Wayne.

Ladies and gentlemen, let's get ready to rumble!!!!!!!!
