It is very hard to believe, but its been nearly two years since Eminem released a track as a headliner (Bad Meets Evil’s “Lighters” ft. Bruno Mars) and it’s been half a year since his last guest appearance on Rihanna’s “Numb”. If you are a fan of the old, less radio friendly and more drug fueled Em, then it has been even longer.

Proving that he is still the king of hip-hop, Em has dropped a cut for Tony Touch’s The Piece Maker 3: Return of the 50 Mc's. While it is only a minute and half long, “Symphony in H” will likely prove that no matter how long he is gone he is still the champ and can reclaim his throne whenever he likes.



This is the Em we, or at least I, have been missing. After his comeback he was still dope, but it felt like a less edgy, more radio-friendly Em as opposed to the unapologetic, hostile, crazy emcee we came to know and love. With lines like “Hell yeah, I nailed J.Lo—to the railroad!” ringing out over his own sharp, quirky production it feels like the old Marshall is back. Really my only complaint is that it is super short. I know he says more in a minute than most emcees say on a whole album, but it felt incomplete to me; I actually thought it was a snippet. Maybe it’s because the The Piece Maker 3: Return of the 50 Mc's has, in fact, like 50 emcees on it, but it still would have been nice to get two verses and a hook. I guess I will have to wait until his album comes out, (hopefully) sometime this year. Who knows, this may be the start of a spree of releases; he always seems to drop stuff in waves.
