Asian Hookers & Roasted Quail: Stream Action Bronson’s “Saab Stories” Album Posted by Lucas G. on 06/11/13 | Filed under Streams, Action Bronson

Ever encountered an artist who is buzzing and has growing fan base full of authentic hip-hop heads but for some reason, despite how much you may want to like them, you just can’t get into it? Well for me, the latest artist to fall in that category is Action Bronson. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t that I don’t like him or think he isn’t good, but I think his style simply doesn’t fall in line with what I go for. While I might not be his biggest fan I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. I think his lyrics are great and very unique. He has this way with words that make his bars very fun to listen to and I love his approach. He doesn’t take himself to seriously, and has a lot of fun with his music; just take a look at the "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" video.

I really, really want to like Bronson, and think what he has done for the New York revival is great. I am hoping his new album (also his Atlantic Records debut) "Saab Stories" will be what sells me on AB. He is off to a good start, getting Harry Fraud to handle the production. His feature selections are interesting too. With guys like Raekwon and Wiz Khalifa making appearances, it looks like he has found a balance between pleasing the label and still keeping it real.

If you are like me, and want to test the waters before diving in, you can stream the album via YouTube below (just press play and let it run). If he does win you over, be sure to buy the album. I feel like Action is one of those rare guys who can sell records and keep his authentic style and those guys are the ones who really deserve our money.
