2 Chainz & Juicy J Just Ruined Sean Paul’s Comeback Record, “Entertainment” (Listen)

I may be in this boat alone, but I've secretly been hoping for a Sean Paul comeback for a minute now. Unfortunately, when an artist does return to making music after a lengthy hiatus they somehow feel the need to take whatever is trendy at the time and amplify it. I understand the desire to fit in musically to whatever sounds good sonically at the time, but for a lot of artists the urge to be trendy usually ends pretty bad. Just ask Fat Joe to play you that dreaded "Instagram That Hoe" song and you'll completely catch my drift.

So, upon hearing that Sean Paul had released a song this week, which featured both 2 Chainz and Juicy J, I knew the record would be either hit or miss (with an emphasis on the latter). First off, the song features both 2 Chainz and Juicy J. And while both of those artists have been known to "turn up" a song or two, they're both two incredibly lackluster lyricists at best. With that being said, featuring both 2 Chainz and Juicy J on the same song isn't the best of ideas.

Second, there isn't much of a reggae aspect to "Entertainment" and it's a heavy disappointment. In fact, Sean Paul should have exchanged "Entertainment" for French Montana and Nicki Minaj's "Freaks." It would have been a much better fit for both parties.

I haven't given up hope on Sean Paul's comeback, but he might want to ditch the Ignorant Rap Titan's when he releases his next record.
