Maybe it's because he's been putting mixtapes as good as albums, but until today I somehow didn't realize that Fabolous' last actual album, "Loso's Way", dropped in 2009. Damn, have is really been four years since the last full-length from Loso? And considering "Loso's Way" didn't really have a big hit single - "Throw It in the Bag" was successful but not huge - it's been since 2007's "Make Me Better" that he's really had a smash on his hands.

Well you know what they say; if you need a hit, just do a song dedicated to the ladies and pay Chris Brown whatever he wants. The result is "Ready", a cut that clearly uses the Drake blueprint with a hazy, dreamy beat (be honest, if I said "40" produced this you'd believe me) and some rapping from Fab that occasionally borders on singing.

Listen, I'd love to hate on this, and clearly I prefer the more straight up lyrical Fabolous, but it's not like the man's Immortal Technique. There's a time and place for R&B rap joints, and in that world this shit is pretty good. Can it be that huge comeback single for Loso though? We shall see.

In the meantime, enjoy, or whatever....
