If you happened to have watched the CMT Music Awards this week, which you didn't, then you probably caught Nelly performing "Cruise (Remix)" alongside country music duo Florida Georgia Line. Thanks to all the sporadic breakdancing, the live graffiti, and of course Nelly's rapping, you may have thought you were watching a re-run of VH1's "Hip Hop Honors." You were not.

I'm in no way against country/rap collabs, it's just they all happen to suck. Throw in performances like this one and things really go downhill. Breakdancing to a country dance tune? Where does that happen in real life? And how cliche is it to throw in some random graffiti artist just as Nelly makes his introduction on stage? In the words of the great Charles Barkly, this is just turrible.

Now if they replaced Nelly with Lil Dicky then we'd be on to something. (Spoiler: We wouldn't.)
