Maybe its because they are playing The Heat, but recently, my opinion of The Spurs has changed. Before, I kinda hated them because they were always in the running and were boring. After the playoffs this year and Tony Parker’s incredible shot last night, I am very impressed by the veteran squad. There is nothing like watching a group of veterans, who have been consistently productive for their whole careers run with the youngins (plus Ray Allen).

Killer Mike and El-P, who together are Run The Jewels, are much like The Spurs. When they get together, you know that given the experience and wisdom they have, anything they make is going to be great and they will have some serious knowledge to drop on the flashy new school cats. We saw it last week on Banana Clipper and now the duo is back at it again, this time with “36” Chain”:



Don’t let the title fool you, this isn’t some “look at my chain, I’m so great” trap cut, not that you could really expect that from these two. While there is no Big Boi, there is still much to love. EL-P's beat is not a signature hip-hop production, but that doesn’t stop them from just destroying it with their powerful, no-nonsense flows. Like Tony Parker and Tim Duncan, there is just something special when to veterans get it going; even if you don’t like them, you have to respect it. The beat might not be everyone’s style, but if you don’t enjoy the verses you might want to check your pulse.
