Yep, That’s A Jay Electronica Verse On Mac Miller’s “Suplexes Inside of Complex & Duplexes” (Listen) Posted by Danielle Harling on 06/10/13 | Filed under Mac Miller, Jay Electronica

Now that June 18 is a little over a week away, I'm assuming this is the point where Kanye West, Mac Miller, and J. Cole begin to break out the big guns. Cole hit us with the Kendrick Lamar-assisted "Forbidden Fruit" last week. Kanye reportedly premiered his new "I Am A God" record at the Governors Ball music festival in New York City this past weekend. And now Mac Miller is getting in on the action with "Suplexes Inside of Complexes & Duplexes," a record that surprisingly features a guest verse from Jay Electronica.

With such a rare verse from Electronica on the record, a number of questions come to mind. First off, was the extensive wait for an Electronica verse worth it? And more importantly, will "Suplexes Inside of Complexes & Duplexes" help Miller in the battle against Cole and Kanye next Tuesday?

As far as the first question is concerned, when you're away from music that long and finally drop a verse or song it's rare that you're going to meet the higher than normal expectations of the people. But I do think "Suplexes Inside of Complexes & Duplexes" will help Miller come Tuesday. The song seems to lack your mainstream appeal and that's a great thing. It's heavily lyrical, sports a slightly throwback boom-bappish beat, and lastly the song obviously boasts one hell of a feature. Quite frankly, I think Miller needed a song like this because he was falling a little behind in the race against Kanye and Cole.
