Living Rap Trivia Question J-Kwon Drops Pusha-T & Odd Future Diss Track

Posted by Lucas Garrison on 06/13/13 | Filed under Humor, Fails, J-Kwon
If you had told me I would be doing a piece about J-Kwon when I started writing for Refined Hype, I would have laughed in your face. I mean the guy has been missing (at one point, literally missing) from the music game since his infamous 2004 hit, “Tipsy”; and yet here we are. After getting mentioned by Pusha T and Tyler The Creator,Kwon has had enough, firing back on “Pushing The Odds” (genius name btw).

No matter how dope J-Kwon’s response was (its not good at all), he is too irrelevant to even think he could take on Pusha and Tyler. He could have an Ether-like performance and people would still get a laugh, because you can’t be off the radar for almost a decade then drop a diss track. Maybe Kanye’s shoutout has him feeling on top of the world again, but don’t know why he thinks he could take shots at anyone who has had any sort of success at all post 2004. Seriously, when people laugh even before hearing your diss track, simply because it is so absurd that you would actually call anyone out, you probably wont be getting a good response.

Well, of course, Tyler had to respond. Thankfully, he didn’t do it on a song, because it doesn’t even warrant that much of a reaction, but Tyler clowned J-Kwon in under 140 charters, doing more damage than J-Kwon did in a whole verse.

I love the reaction. Being happy about a diss because of the sheer novelty of whose behind it is such a great response; it’s the ultimate non-response, response. As of yet Pusha hasn’t responded, he’s too busy licking his wounds. Really though, I don’t think this even warrants a response. Nobody is out there thinking Kwon is better than Pusha or Tyler, so whats the point of even validating “Pushing the Odds”?

This has to be the best week for J-Kwon since 2004. Getting a shootout from Kanye and riding the backs of two popular emcees is all J-Kwon could have ever dreamed for. Now is the perfect time to drop a Dylan collab and really make this comeback official.
