If you ask someone who their favorite superhero is, Superman is often left off that list because many people have a hard time finding human-like qualities they can relate to in the character. Thankfully, that’s no longer an issue after "Man of Steel", the latest summer blockbuster that accomplishes a re-envisioning of America’s longest-running action-hero.

With the assistance of director Zack Snyder, screenwriter David S. Goyer and producer Christopher Nolan, this 75-year-old classic now has a modernized look and tone in the narrative. And although it’s nothing like Christopher Reeves’ films, "Man of Steel" is more emotionally invested with its core audience now than ever. In fact, watching this movie might not just be entertaining, it might teach you a few things about being a man.



But don’t just take my word for it; here are 7 Reasons "Man of Steel" Will Make You A Better Man:

1) Flight, and X-Ray vision aren’t the only super powers Superman possesses in 2013. Unlike the other reboots, Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent also has strong decision-making skills that he uses to save the lives of others – from a twister and ultimately from global extinction. Throughout the story, his adopted father (Kevin Costner) attempts to refrain his son from embracing his differences, out of fear that society may rule him out, but CK understands his purpose on earth and strives to fulfill it.

2) Superman’s morally complex this time around. The main idea of this new version of "Man Of Steel" is to add some much needed depth to the character. And the movie achieves this by showing how Clark overcomes the struggle of being half man and half amazing.

3) "Man Of Steel" is the epitome of a stand up guy. Whereas most men would distance themselves from people they don’t get along with, Clark is cordial and mature enough to help his enemies if necessary. In one scene, CK is seen being bullied on a school bus, when the driver accidentally veers off a bridge into a river. Guess whom he rescued first?

4) Clark has no problem accepting flaws and embracing change – and this film highlights how he uses his uniqueness to his advantage.

5) Kent faces his dilemmas like a man. Comparable to other action-adventure heroes like “Iron Man”, who rely on technology to save the world, this darker re-telling of superman finds the character depending on his god-given tools to solve his problems: his hands, which he uses to battle the protagonist (Michael Shannon, as General Zod) in the closing scenes.

6) Despite his firm exterior, Kal-El’s also very sensitive and self-aware. And in case you’re wondering, chicks dig that sort of thing, so you might want to take note for future reference when you’re trying to swoon the ladies.

7) Not only does Superman save the world on a daily basis, he also has a regular 9-5, which means he’s goal-oriented. Remember when Wale said: They gon’ love me for my ambition? He was right - and in the movie Mr. Kent does whatever he can in order to pay the bills. Females love a man with drive, so even if you aren’t the richest guy on planet, having goals will get you in her panties faster than you can read this last sentence.
