Freddie Gibbs & Bun B Hit “Rock Bottom” (Listen & Download) Posted by Nathan S. on 05/28/10 | Filed under Downloads, Freddie Gibbs, Bun B

I threw this track into yesterday's "Daily Re-Up" at the last minute, but Freddie Gibbs latest and greatest definitely deserves its own post now that a brave new day has come. Like most, actually almost all, of Gangster Gibbs work, "Rock Bottom" blends street rap with deeply personal and intelligent rhymes. Regular readers know what high esteem I hold Gibbs in and I don't want to get all Stan-ish, so let's just say that "Rock Bottom" is the ish. Add in a tight guest verse from Bun B (why do some many folks hate on Bun?) and a smoothed out beat and you've got a cut that will be playing in my headphones all day.

I couldn't possibly be more stoked for the release of Gibbs's "Str8 Killa No Filla" mixtape. And yes, "stoked" is the kind of word you use when you've been living in California for a decade.
