Clearly sweet baby jesus wants me to rap nerd the fuck out this week, and who I am to deny his holy rap will? So after spending the last few weeks going back to the forgotten classic "Soundbombing II" album, I now get to spend the rest of my weekend playing Del the Funky Homosapien's "Deltron 3030" album thanks to new joint, "City Rising From the Ashes".

First things first, "Deltron 3030" is a classic. It just is. That album helped changed what I thought was possible in hip-hop, and more than a decade after it dropped, I'm still picking up nuances. I mean, the man straight up did an alien freestyle rap battle; if you don't know, now you know.

So yes, I'm obscenely excited the news that there's a new Deltron album, "Deltron Event II", dropping late this summer and including production by the original Dan the Automator x Kid Koala crew. And before that, we'll get a "City Rising from the Ashes" EP on July 30, which if the title track is any indication, will make me have a rap nerdgasm.
