I couldn't give a shit about the BET Awards, or really any awards show, if I drank two bottles of laxatives. But I do love me some rap, so you better believe I'm watching every single Cypher on repeat. Ok, well, there was one that I you couldn't pay me to watch on repeat, but otherwise, 2013 was a solid year. (2012 was a sonic Ambien pill.)

Instead of breaking them up, I'm just going to give the people what they want and hit you with every cypher on one page. Enjoy, let's get to breaking this shit down in the comments. (And my apologies for the annoying BET player. The world's been telling them how annoying that auto-play shit is for years and they just won't listen.)

Wax x Rapsody x Emis Killa x Rittz x Jon Connor

The Verdict: I'll admit that I'm probably biased because this is an unofficial RefinedHype cypher - Rapsody, Wax and Rittz have all be on the podcast and Jon Connor only hasn't because I don't know him - but still, fucking dope. These are all emcees with truly original styles, god I love hip-hop. (Side Note: I don't really know what to do with homeboy rhyming in French. If the subtitles are right those were some pretty standard rhymes, but I bet something was just lost in translation.)

ASAP Mob (Ferg x Twelvyy x Nast x Ant x Rocky)

The Verdict: Honestly, I only know Rocky and Ferg by sight, but everyone here was solid. I've got absolutely no complaints, although all anyone's going to be talking about are the tights and shorts combo Rocky is rocking.

Action Bronson x Starlife Breezy x Travi$ Scott x Tiffany Foxx x Lil Kim

The Verdict: Every year there's one random, huh, they just threw everyone in a cypher that they couldn't fit anywhere else, didn't they? As much as I love Bronson this wasn't even one of this finest, and everyone else....semi-painful at best. Bronson's beard game was fantastical though, so we've got that going for us.

Slaughterhouse (Joell Ortiz x Crooked I x Royce da 5'9" x Joe Budden)

The Verdict: Did BET just give Slaughterhouse an automatic cypher every year, regardless of what they did that year? If so, I'm not complaining. After that last shit these bars were fucking mindblowing. Royce just lost any chance at going on tour with that Halle Berry/Drake punchline, I'm sure he's crying tears over it. And I have to give it up to Budden, he fucking First 48ed that verse.

TDE (Kendrick Lamar x ScHoolboy Q x Ab-Soul x Jay Rock x Isaiah Rashad)

The Verdict: Oh shit! Choc pulled out the classic beat for TDE, well played sir, well played sir. Top to bottom that was some par excellence raw rhyming, especially Ab-Soul's contribution. And he can say whatever he wants in interviews, but Drake wants absolutely no piece of Kendrick on the mic.
