Yo, I be hatin’ when someone says their gonna do something and they don’t go through with it, even if there’s a legit excuse. It irks me, especially if I’m the one that flakes. I know I’m not the only one. This also transfers over into the world of hip-hop. For example, take the case of the disappearing single. See more....

If anything Drake is helping expand the genre and culture. In fact, by Drake having seen his fair share of money before his meteoric rise in rap I feel like he's actually creating music because he actually wants to, not to get rich, sell an album, get paid and bounce on us. There was a time when if you were a rapper and even hinted that you liked to sing another rapper was gonna call you out. Remember when 50 Cent dissed Ja Rule about singing on his songs but then started doing the same himself? We've come a long way since then.

For instance, what's up with everybody hopping on today's new hot track? How many “A Milli” freestyles did we have to hear before a million people prepared their suicide notes for their ears? Who thought it was a good idea to remake that damn “Tupac Back” track? See more...

Great Moments in Unintentionally Gay Rap Lyrics

The phenomenon of calling pause or no-homo for things that sound gay is funny. I find irony in the fact that some of the most clever and/or hardcore rhymes in hip-hop can have the gayest connotations. There are plenty pause-worthy lines in hip-hop songs that we all know about. Below I break down a few that always give me a good laugh. See more...
