The Weeknd Completes His Emo Trilogy With “Echoes Of Silence” (Mixtape Download)

After listening to The Weeknd's latest project, "Echoes Of Silence," I think it's safe to say that either you like The Weeknd or you don't there's really no in between. It's impossible to just kind of like the overly emotional tones of his songs or the way his voice seems to morph into something completely different 82 times on one track. It just doesn't work like that.

The Weeknd boldly kicks off "Echoes Of Silence" with "D.D." which is his take on Michael Jackson's classic song "Dirty Diana." I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to newer artists remaking songs from such iconic artists, but The Weeknd actually does the song justice. I like The Weeknd but I do find that he's a little more enjoyable minus all the bells and whistles. For instance my favorite songs on "Echoes Of Silence" are "D.D." and "Same Old Song" because they're both simple. But if the bells and whistles are for you then you'll definitely get some of that on "Echoes Of Silence" as well.
