Methinks perhaps you forgot about Cassidy’s credentials. The Philly emcee was never at the absolute top, but he was a legitimate force for years. We’re talking about three top-ten albums, the strange honor of being the first rapper to sell a million ringtones with “Im A Hustla” and widespread respect as a rapper walking the line between the streets and the mainstream. And then…

Cassidy’s last full album, 2010’s “C.A.S.H.”, sold 5K copies its first week. Nope, that’s not a typo. Not 50K, 5K. Since then it’s been a string of random songs and appearances, to put it kindly. Let’s hope those ringtone royalties are still paying the bills.
