Wale “Back To Ballin’” On His New Record, Should Probably Go Back To Making Good Music (Listen) Posted by Danielle Harling on 12/13/12 | Filed under Downloads, Wale, French Montana

I remember seeing a video interview with Wale a little while back and he mentioned something about taking his music back to a more exciting time and showing more range. Unfortunately, his "Back To Ballin'" record with French Montana demonstrates none of those. "Back To Ballin" may garner a little excitement in a rowdy club, but it shows zero range from the rapper since it sounds a lot like every other MMG record released in the past year.

Wale's releases have become very frustrating as of late, and "Back To Ballin" is likely the creme de la creme of listener frustration. It's overtly generic and just plain bad, there's really no other way to put it. Also, with the release of records that fall short of mediocre and their new move to Atlantic Records anyone else feel that the future of MMG is starting to look a little bleak? Although, depending on how that plays out it could be a good thing for Wale.
