Independent Hype: Masta Menace Spits “Talk to Tha Beat” [Download]

I won't lie. I get sent a lot of music from rappers convinced they're the next big thing, and most of it isn't very good. (And by "very good" I mean "makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.") So I'm always a little surprised when I get a track from a rapper I've never heard of and it turns out to be pretty damn good.

That's exactly what happened with Masta Menace, a Pennsylvania based rapper who began writing verses to compete with other rappers in his high school. These early days of battling quickly turned from a hobby into passion and Masta Menace, a rapper who cites everyone from Redman to Lupe Fiasco as influences, was born. Menace is currently unsigned, but is grinding independently with the release of his album "The Keystone King."
