This Week in Hype: The Amir Abbassy (@BlameTheLabel) Edition Posted by Nathan S. on 03/01/13 | Filed under Downloads, This Week in Hype, Podcasts

When I first started the "This Week in Hype" podcast I wanted to steer clear of the usual "rappers promoting a project" interviews and bring on some behind-the-scenes folks that you may not know, but are just are responsible for bringing your favorite music to light.

With that in mind, I'm honored to have Amir Abbassy (aka BlameTheLabel, aka Freeway's manager, aka hip-hop's Worldwide Wes, aka the BeardGang general) join me to talk about Snoop Dogg's legacy, the Lil Poopy fiasco and much more.

Discussed This Week:

* Where does Snoop Dogg stand on the All-Time Rappers list?
* A teenage Snoop's first official appearance.
* Snoop's upcoming "Reincarnated" movie.
* Nine-year-old cocaine rappers (aka Lil Poopy).
* Sneaking views of "Baby Got Back" on TV back in the day.
* "You know what's gonna happen with Hip-Hop? / Whatever's happening with us"
* Our closing track this week: Roc Marciano's "76"

One last note before we get started: We did it RefinedHype Nation, our humble podcast has officially been anointed by the iTunes gods! Go subscribe and rate the shit our of that motherfucker. Thank you for the support.
