I'll be honest. After that questionable Gucci Mane guest feature I was a little worries that Talib Kweli's new release, "I'm On It", would be another misguided venture into the land of Southern bangers for the Black Star emcee. While the production's certainly not his usual, Khrysis gets busy in the truest sense here, the good new is that "On It" is actually pretty nice.
It might just be because I'm so used to hearing him over Hi-Tek production, but Kweli still doesn't sound at home over this beat. Still, the man's reached a point in his career when he really doesn't give a fuck about making anyone happy. Among those who get a few shots fired their way are WorldStarHipHop, VladTV, and even manages to work in a few Kurt Vonnegutt references. Good by me.
