Who the F*ck Is the “Maybach Music” Chick?

Reading Jason James' article today about how we all only have a matter of days to live until the world explodes into an apocalyptic hellscape (good times) got me to thinking - what's on my bucket list fro the next two years. Sure I want to skydive, and I always thought being able to play the violin would be ridiculously baller, but there's really only one question that would haunt me to my grave if it went unanswered - who the hell is the Maybach Music chick?

Just in case that wasn't completely self-explanatory, I'm of course talking about that hot chick who says "Maybach Music" at the beginning of every...well, you know.



Who the f**k is she?!? It's a question that's been killing me for years now, and believe me, I've investigated. I even went so far as to ask Ross' manager, Gucci Pucci (and yes, that is what he insists on being called) and he only responded with, "I'll don't know, I'll ask around", which is not so subtle code for "Leave me alone you crazy ass blogger."

And sure, I know on some level it's crazy, but just think about it. Like whoever it is who does the trailers for 90% of Hollywood movies, you've heard her voice countless times, but probably never bothered to take the time to realize she's an actual person. Is she a female rapper they pulled in? An actress? Just some random chick? Did she negotiate a royalty percentage for every time they used her voice (unlikely, but if she did she's one of America's secret millionaires), or did they just pay her a one time fee (or nothing)? Has she done anything else, or was this her one glorious moment?

Here's my guess. She was just some stripper/groupie in the studio one night who had a nice voice, so they threw her in the booth and recorded...and then kicked her the fuck out. She's probably currenlty living in a trailer park with her meth addicted boyfriend eating ramen off a hot stove.

Or maybe not. Maybe there's a secret industry of chicks with hot voices who do drops for rappers. Maybe she's lounging by her pool in Miami as we speak.

So hopefully now you can see why, if we were to uncover her identity and reveal her story, the Maybach Music chick would secretly be the most interesting piece of hip-hop journalism you've read in years. That's right, I said "we". I can't do this alone people, so I'm asking all of RefinedHype Nation to start working the interwebs, making calls and taking notes. I'm not saying "Secret Identity of the Mayback Music Chick Revealed" is Pulitzer material, but.....

p.s. - Maybe she's related to the chick that says "Justice League".
