Ever since the dawn of time, or at least the 80's, the Super Bowl has been well-known for its clever, quirky, and sometimes controversial commercials. So much so that I'm sure there's a large amount of people who watch the game solely for the commercials. The excitement was very much in the air for this year's commercials although I can't say I was as impressed as I was previous years. Of course there were a handful of standouts and also one of the worst commercials in Super Bowl history, here are just a few of those.



My personal favorite from the night was Volkswagen's "Get In. Get Happy" commercial. In the ad, a man who flaunts an absolutely hilarious Jamaican accent attempts to cheer up some glum co-workers. Despite being one of the night's funniest commercials even this one wasn't safe from a little controversy.



Cute commercial and you can't go wrong with the use of Skee-Lo's "I Wish" in a Super Bowl ad.



I don't think that anyone who takes running seriously, or walking for that matter, wears Skechers but at least the brand did impress with their Super Bowl commercial.



This Tide commercial is a win on so many different levels. It may have been the only commercial that incorporated the two teams competing in the Super Bowl and it also boasts all the qualities of a great Super Bowl commercial. It was funny, clever, and sports-oriented.



On top of being pretty funny, Doritos' "Goat 4 Sale" commercial also wins cool points for being a fan-made commercial.



Go Daddy's Super Bowl commercials have always been kinda sucky, but they took sucking to new (and literal) extremes with their commercial this year. There's no sugar-coating it, this sh*t is gross.
