Fails: All Hail Shyne The “King Of New NYS”

We all know who the new king of New York is right? I know you might be thinking Kendrick after “Control”, but he just got shown up by the one true king, Shyne. Yes you read that right… Shyne. As you can expect from a "Control" response entitled “King Of NYS”, Shyne makes some lofty claims, like crowning himself king and even mentioning Kendrick himself; I can’t believe K Dot forgot to mention him! Granted I wasn’t expecting much from Shyne, but even this is terrible and not even in a funny, ironic way.

The whole thing is just so corny. His crown looks like it came from Burger King and his flow is just as tacky. The beat isn’t the worst thing I have ever heard, but his flow is a train wreck; I mean he can barely stay on beat. The lyrics aren’t much better either, especially when he rhymes Hoover with Hoover. I don’t want to seem like a dick, but my lord. You would think someone tell him maybe its time to hang up the crown.

It is hard to believe this is coming from someone who is a somewhat recognizable name; it doesn't even sound mixed or mastered. It’s a shame to see because the dude was at one time one of the most promising emcees in the game and had nothing but good things ahead of him, until his incarceration of course; this only adds to the legend of what could have been. This might not so great...but there's still no denying “Bad Boyz” is a classic banger. Ultimately, I blame Diddy.
