Sha Stimuli, the
My City vet who RefinedHype regulars probably know best for his
greatest swag parody of all time, is fucking unstoppable right now. Not only is he one of the legitimately hilarious emcees out there (see "
Motherfucker" for proof), he can also be one of the most viciously political lyricists out there, as he proves on this new single, "
Televised Revolution", featuring yet another
My City vet,
Mickey Factz.
While the Gil Scot Heron sample will undoubtedly bring out Kanye West comparisons (yet another thing Kanye wasn't the first to do but it now the leading example of), the thing that first grabbed me about "Televised Revolution" is the
Mell & D beat. I know it may be too busy for some, but I fucking love this production. Now this is how you do the rock/rap hybrid beat thing. Throw some predictably dope rhymes from Sha and Mickey and you've got the banger of the day.
Warning, this is grown man rap, so if you're mad because RefinedHype fires shots at Soulja Boy daily, don't even bother pressing play. Off Sha's "Unsung Vol. 1 (The Garden of Eden)" album, out now.
