Do you want the good news or the bad news?

Ok. let's start with the good news. The good news is that we now officially have the first song featuring both Andre 3000 and Big Boi since...fuck, what was the last one? It's crazy this is a fucking trivia question now. Since...the "Idlewild" days? Somewhere around there. So yeah, it's been a long time coming.

The bad news is that this is an Outkast "reunion" is only the most technical of technicalities, and it's certainly not an Outkast song. Big Boi added a verse to Frank Ocean's "Pink Matter", which originally featured Andre. So....essentially nothing's changed.

Big Boi was never the problem, it's getting 3 Stacks to record new material with Big that's the problem. If "Pink Matter" originally featured Big Boi and 3K was like, "Yo, I have to get on that remix", or he had recorded a new verse for the remix, then we could at least delusionally take that as a sign he wanted to make music with Big again. That's not what happened here. The only lesson here is that Big Boi's down to work, which we already knew. This isn't an Outkast reunion, this is a song that essentially coincidentally features two guys who used to be in a group called Outkast.

Sorry to be such a fucking downer, but this is RefinedHype, and I feel it's my duty as el presidente of RefinedHype nation to deflate some of the "Big Boi and 3K are back together!!!" hype I see floating around the interwebs. I had the same hopes when I first saw this shit dropped, I feel just as let down. In fact, I'm feeling bad about that picture above, I'll admit it was kind of a rap cock tease (so to speak).

The song's still pretty dope though...
