Omen, Mickey Factz & Nickelus F Deliver a New “Negro Spiritual” (Listen & Download)

Omen Negro Spiritual
While everyone's busy either tearing apart or defending Lupe's "Lasers" the game goes on and new dope music continues to drop. Music like Omen's new release "Negro Spiritual", a track that updates its musical tradition for the new generation. Props given where props are due.

This is no knock on the emcees involved, Mickey Factz, Ashton Travis, Nickelus F and Luckie Day all do well (although I can't help but dream of hearing J. Cole on this), but the real star here is the beat. As we all know from "All For Me", goddamn Omen's good behind the boards, and credit needs to also go to co-producer Audio BLK. The base beat is absolutely stellar, but then adding in those vocals (from the C3 choir) and those horns on the back end? I don't say this often, but I'd bump this just as an instrumental.

Now I'm officially stoked to hear Omen's upcoming project, "Black Hero Theme Musik", dropping in April.

When I first played this and the beat came on I literally said whoa. Beat's dope, I like it but the dude's put in work on the mic especially on that hook.

Omen's productions are always on point. I've heard some sick verses, and some ok verses. I hope he established himself as a good rapper soon or he'll be marked as a producer trying to rap (Timbo and Swizz).

^ He's certainly not as bad as Timbo or Swizz, but yes, if we're being real at this point Omen is an ill producer who can wrap decent.

Beat's crazy though.
