Normally the fine folks of RefinedHype Nation use their internet stalking skills to find a lovely lady in the latest music video (or maybe just for Mystery Booty) but today I am going to request something different from those super stalkers, find me more Linus Young. At first I was hesitant to feature an artist with a small sample size--literally one song--but Linus Young is too good to ignore. Don't let the name fool you, Linus Young isn't a guy, it's two..well, it's a male-female duo (although their band deserves some serious credit). There is almost no information on them anywhere, but who needs information when you have a song like "City Of Sin"?

Am I missing something? Did this band win four Grammys already? Did they teach Imagine Dragons everything they know? I am baffled that a sound this refined, a video this well done comes from a group with only one song; the production quality of the effort are through the roof. I guess if you have one song this is the one to have. "City Of Sin" is catchy, and radio ready, but it is still dark and very rock-ish. I know, at least I'm pretty sure, they are just a duo, but it would be a shame if they didn't use their band for everything. The vocals are amazing, but I really like how the instrumentals give the song a heavier foundation. The combination of the more soulful yet catchy vocals and the edgy instrumentals is a lethal one. It gives them a unique sound that still appeals to a varied audience. Give it a few spins, it really grows on you; it takes a minute to really appreciate the uniqueness of the vocals. While I couldn't find any more music (I'll leave that up to you), I did find out they have an album coming out that is produced by Malay, the man who has worked with Yelawolf, Big Boi, Alicia Keys, and John Legend and he also produced Channel Orange (one of my all-time favorites). They may only have one song, but they certainly already have quite the resume. Keep Linus Young on your radar; they are going places...and fast.
