Mariah Carey & Miguel Unsurprisingly Make “Beautiful” Music Together (Listen) Posted by Danielle Harling on 05/06/13 | Filed under Mariah Carey, Miguel

I fully understand why Mariah Carey recruited Rick Ross and Meek Mill for her last single "Triumphant," but with the release of the Miguel-assisted "Beautiful" we now have a new collaboration from the songstress that actually makes sense and also sounds pretty amazing. "Beautiful" may not be a power ballad from the duo, but it is an understated tune that's about as smooth as it gets.

While some may have hoped for a powerhouse record, I'm glad they took the subtler route with "Beautiful." We all know that both Mariah and Miguel are capable of doing great things with their voices and at the same time we don't need to be made aware of that on every single song.

Also, whoever created the cover art for "Beautiful" needs to be fired immediately. Minus the obnoxious hashtag, it looks like the cover to a straight-to-DVD, romantic flick.
