As much as I love live music, I have long debated whether or not I would survive, let alone enjoy, a large music festival like Bonnaroo. The music is great, but the heat, dirt, and sheer amount of people make me just a wee bit nervous considering I like air conditioning and hate any event where there are just too many people. However, after watching Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ set on Ustream I might reconsider my position on festivals; I’m not even a fan of theirs either.

Now they don’t have a replay version available, why I don’t know because the set was great, but, regardless, you will have to deal with some live action footage; it almost gives it more power though. To me, the highlight was the electric performance of “Can’t Hold Us”. Sure the audio is bad, but who needs audio for a song you have heard a million times? It is pretty incredible to see the overwhelming sea of people and it actually gave me goosebumps. I can even imagine what it must be like to be standing on the stage having the whole audience rocking with you. The best part was when Macklemore was basically walking on the crowd. Love him or hate him, the man is a true showman and you have to respect it. To get a crowd of all tastes rocking with you the way he did is truly special.

Nathan Update: Seems like as good of a time as any to mention Macklemore's new "Stay at Home Dad".
