Kanye West & Jay-Z Go “H.A.M.” (Listen & Download)

To be honest I have a hard time believing Def Jam's actually going to put out an album featuring two superstar artists with such relatively little promotion, but it looks like this Jay-Z and Kanye West collaborative album, "Watch the Throne", which was hijacked by the Good Friday series, is going to happen after all, and if the lead single "H.A.M." is any indication, it will be dope, but not as stratospherically dope as we'd hoped for.

Produced by Lex Luger, the king of the bangers, "H.A.M." is the hardest and most grinding cut we've heard from both Yeezy and Hove in a minute, an instantly head nodding beat that takes on operatic proportions on the chorus. And as for men behind the mic, I think Kanye sounds much better here. His flow's much better suited to this kind of straightforward and occasionally hilarious beat, but Jay's never been one for the huge, high-caliber production. The man just doesn't do angry very well.

I'll have to turn it over to RefinedHype nation. "Watch the Throne" drops March 1, and I now have no idea how it's going to sound. (UPDATE: The more I listen to it, the more I like Jay's verse. I'll have to give it some more time to marinate before I make any definitive statement's.)
