No, Seriously, Turn Up the F**king Mics: DJ Premier, Nas & Bumpy Knuckles (Listen & Download)

Let's not front, Nas was in a bit of a creative slump over the last few years. He'd still drop some heat from time to time, but for the most part the man seemed to be going through the motions. And then, for whatever reason, about a year ago now he not only started putting out a lot more music, he started crushing everything he touched. Maybe Kelis was weighing him down.

Thankfully, nothing's changed on the "Turn Up the Mic (Remix)". It's not every day we get treated to some Nas rhymes over DJ Premier production, so much respect to Bumpy Knuckles for sharing some shine on his cut (and for delivering a solid verse in his own right). It's a cliche to say this sounds like some golden era shit, but...this sounds like some golden era shit.

And as long as we're here, Nas is promising that his new album, "Life is Good', is on the way. As always I wouldn't get too excited until that shit's sitting in your iTunes, but Nasir's obviously down to work right now. Here's hoping we've got some vintage God's Son shit in our headphones soon.
