Enjoy Your Once-Every-6-Months Jay Electronica Track, “Dear Moleskin” (Listen & Download) Posted by Nathan S. on 04/09/12 | Filed under Downloads, Jay Electronica

The idea that Jay Electronica is over-hyped is such a fact it's not even really worth bringing up; kind of like how it's essentially pointless to bring up that Rick Ross doesn't "really" sell drugs. In Jay Elec's case, it's not a matter of talent - the man's obviously lyrically gifted - it's a matter of quantity. When you only release a couple songs a year, no matter how good those joints are, unless they give me a blowjob and bake me a cake it wasn't worth the wait.

So instead of using the release of "Dear Moleskine" as a chance to complain about Elec's glacial pace, I'm just going to sit back, take new releases from the man as they come, and enjoy. So I'll have "Moleskin" on repeat for the next couple days, and then frankly I'll probably forget about it.

The seasons will change, old men will die, babies will be born, and then a new Elec track will drop. Who knows, maybe even an album. Maybe not. It's the circle of life...and it moves us all.

Stream and download is beneath the snippet video, which has been out forever but I didn't post because....
