We've been talking a lot lately about the Friday Night Test. Well, J. Cole just passed the Monday Night Test. It's not quite as prestigious an accomplishment, but shit, it just so happens to be Monday. Not much he can do about it.

I was ready to turn into bed, but I couldn't ignore the "oh shit, did you hear the new Cole?" questions blowing up my Twitter, so I had to crack the ol' laptop back open, and I'm glad that I did. "Cole Summer" is nothing but five straight minutes (more or less) of Cole rhyming over a looped sample of "Nothing Even Matters", that are good enough to demand multiple replays.

Some highlights:

"This sample was screaming 'loop me' / Miss Lauryn please don't sue me / cause I ain't one of these rappers frontin like he got it / I ain't fucking got it."

Well damn then. And if that wasn't enough, apparently there's a "Yours Truly 2" on the way tomorrow (Tuesday, 4/30).

Well, then, I'm glad I stayed awake an extra hour. Nothing some coffee meth won't fix in the morning. Call me officially stoked for this "Truly Yours 2" shit. Let's do the damn thing. In the meantime, enjoy...
