Over the past few weeks, it seems that violence in Hip-Hop has started to become more of an increasing trend. Rick Ross made headlines when he was the victim of a drive-by shooting last month, an aspiring rapper was killed in another drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, and now there's news that Maybach Music Group/Bad Boy Records artist French Montana was attacked in a drive-by shooting last night that left one fan dead.

The shooting took place in Philadelphia following French's concert at the Theater of the Living Arts. It's currently unclear who was behind the shooing, but police are questioning close to 30 people about the incident. And in related news, TMZ reports that Rick Ross now has 24-hour NYPD security due to death threats that are specifically aimed at the Miami rapper.

This is clearly starting to get out of control. With so many drive-by shootings in such a short period of time, it certainly seems that this surge in violence in Hip-Hop is starting to become an awful trend. If so, it's one that needs to be dealt with ASAP because this is starting to feel uncomfortably ominous.

Talk about life imitating art gone terribly, terribly wrong.
