It's pure hilarity that Drake's new song is titled "Trust Issues." Drake has trust issues? And in other news the sky is blue and grass is green. Please tell us something we don't know. Humor aside I really feel like Drake's popularity among his female fans stems from him being unafraid to sing/rap about his trust issues, broken-heartedness, and other emotional mumbo jumbo. But enough about that let's get to "Trust Issues." Even though I think the song is a good deal better than "Marvins Room" there's a few parts on "Trust Issues" where I can't help but think to myself "this sounds like I've heard it before." Maybe it has something to do with the way Drake sings his songs.
The real standout on "Trust Issues" is the production. It's "smooth like a hot comb on nappy ass hair." Somebody needs to drop an instrumental ASAP. I've yet to find out who produced it, but upon doing research on the production I did find out that Drake is a sizzurp dranker. Maybe that's to blame for all his emo-ness.
Nathan Update: Confirmed, produced by
Noah "40" Shebib and
Adrian X. Also, if you're feeling deja vu it's because the opening section is the exact same as "
I'm On One", only sung all emotional like. I'll include both for compare and contrast purposes.
