Welcome Back Grandmama: Converse CONS Lifestyle CollectionPosted by Ru Porter on 11/11/13 | Filed under Style, Sneakers, Converse |

Remember that time I wrote about five retro kicks I’d hope to see re-released in the near future? One of the brands I mentioned actually took my request into consideration. On November 14, the sneakerheads at Converse Inc. will launch the re-mastered Converse CONS lifestyle sneaker collection featuring the Aerojam, Anarchy and Star Player Plus.
The trifecta of kicks speaks directly to consumers who are deeply influenced by hip-hop culture, as their designs borrow cues from 1990s streetwear, for a modern take on a throwback where style intersects with music, fashion and art. The Holiday 2013 Converse CONS collection will be available for purchase exclusively at select Footaction, Foot Locker, Champs and online in North America, with the Aerojam retailing for $110, the Anarchy for $80 and the Star Player Plus for $70.
Each of the models feature combinations of canvas and nubuck materials, with bright contrast stitching accents, offered in black, grey and red. But the stand out in the Converse CONS Lifestyle pack is definitely the signature Grandmama shoe, which comes in the same silhouette and colorway as the beloved original, boasting an oversize tongue, gradient detailing, and a lace shroud that’s removable and reversible using lighter and more comfortable fabric.
Props to Converse for listening and getting it done right this time.
