I'm not quite sure what's up with Cassie and her game of peek-a-boo with the music industry. She'll release a record and an extravagant music video to go along with it, and then she'll disappear for a few months only to do the same thing over again. It's a little odd to say the least, but the songstress has returned yet again with a new record featuring Young Jeezy. For some reason I was expecting their record, "Balcony", to be a high-energy and largely club-friendly record, but it's in fact quite the opposite.

On "Balcony," Cassie taps into her sultry side as she uses her raspy vocals to describe an instance where she made love on a balcony...in New York City...in Times Square while the tourists stared back at her. Am I wrong for letting out a hearty chuckle during that part? You have to admit that's kinda on the hilarious side. While Jeezy's verse on "Balcony" does slightly change the tone of the record, producer Rico Love's production keeps the song steamy from beginning to end.

With this type of woozy R&B becoming pretty popular these days I think a record like "Balcony" has the ability to throw Cassie back into the spotlight. And you can't go wrong with the added Jeezy verse, but if Cassie doesn't release another new song/video for another few months then it's back to the endless game of music industry peek-a-boo for the singer.
