A few weeks ago Bruno Mars served as both host and performer on "Saturday Night Live" and while he was actually pretty dope on the hosting end, what stood out the most for me was his performance of the previously unreleased "Young Girls." I will admit that the title of the song is a little on the sketchy side, but Bruno's vocals on the song paired with the piano in the background made for one hell of a performance.



Earlier today, the album version of the record was released and I'm pretty sure I sighed and shook my head through the entire length of the song. The keys and strings present during the live performance are replaced with poppy production and even Bruno's vocals on the album version don't seem as powerful. I understand that Bruno has become pretty well-known for his pop-infused tunes, but can we at least get one mildly soulful record on "Unorthodox Jukebox?"
