Nickelus F Brings On a Relatively Serious Drake for “Number 15” (Listen & Download) Posted by Nathan S. on 01/21/13 | Filed under Downloads, Drake, Nickelus F

You've got to say this for Drake. In an age where most famous rappers have a new verse out every other day (cough, 2 Chainz), and crank out behind-the-scenes pics of the making of their trailer for their video (cough, Rick Ross), new Drake material is relatively rare.

Which means that when a new song like "Number 15" drops with Drake drops I'm usually intrigued enough to listen, and when it's with a non-famous rapper like Nickelus F? I'm definitely listening.

While the pairing at first felt random, some serious journalistic research Googling quickly revealed that Drizzy and Nick F have been working together for a minute. Like on a "met on MySpace, did songs before Drake got signed" level.

But regardless of how it came about, the result is pretty goddamn dope. This is one of the more solid Drake verses I've heard in a minute, I don't even feel inspired to make a Big Ghost joke, but it's really Nickelus who dominates: "Grandmama got Alzheimers but she'll remember this / ain't no way she won't remember this." Oh, and did I mention that's Jake One on the beat?

Now that's some real rap. In fact, it's good enough to get me to check out Nickelus' new "Vices" album right now.

Enjoy...
