Blu Feels Heartbroken on “Untitled(LovedU)2” (Listen & Download)

Thank sweet baby jesus. I've been a supported of west coast emcee/singer/artists/least likely to make it huge XLL Freshman Blu for a minute now, but the last time we heard from him, on the terrible "NewMGMGrand", I was worried that he's finally gone too far to come back. While his new track "Untitled(LovedU)2" is certainly far from your average track - it's no "Panties on the Ground" - but here the experimentalism works. The production flips a Radiohead sample but doesn't over do it, and, despite taking an occasional break to do some crooning, Blu drops some legit rhymes. To say this is a mellowed out track would be to do a disservice to mellowed out tracks, but it's still a damn good listen - especially if you recently had you heart broken and are drinking until you can't feel feelings.

Blu's new project "Her Favorite Colo(u)r", which I'm guessing will all more or less be break-up songs like this, is due out in late August. In the meantime let's just hope he doesn't take any more trips back to Vegas...that was an indirect MGM Grand reference.

And I've said it 100 times but I'll say it again, why don't more producers use Radiohead samples? When done right that shit sounds ill.
