Big Sean Goes Pop With Chris Brown on “My Last” (Listen & Download)

(Yes, I know I'm late with this one.)

Getting on Kanye tracks is cool, dropping a really popular mixtape is cool, but if Big Sean really wants to emerge as a star in his own right he's going to need a hit. And if you need a hit, you obviously have no other choice but to throw on a shiny suit and get Chris Brown to sing a hip-pop joint. (Side note: That's not your only choice.) On that note, allow me to present "My Last".

On its surface there's nothing particularly bad about "My Last", but to be frank there's nothing particularly good about it either. Breezy is exactly what you'd expect, the beat's exactly what you'd expect, and Sean dumbs down his flow significantly to gain that mainstream appeal. (The mainstream is apparently all idiots.) Other than a pretty hilarious Sean John/"Sean's john" reference, I don't hear much of the emcee everyone's been so excited about here.
