No one's saying that Big K.R.I.T. is Pimp C, there will always only be one Pimp C (and one K.R.I.T. for that matter), but as new release "Time Machine", if anyone's carrying on the late great Chad Butler's musical legacy, it's him. It was always easy for people to dismiss Pimp as just another shallow Southern rapper rhyming about cars and women, but beneath that glossy surface his beats always had a real notes of soul, gospel and the blues, qualities that "Time Machine" also share.

I could spend all day getting into how wrongly people tend to dismiss Southern music like this, when in fact it's deeper than 99& of everything else out there, but the music will speak louder than I ever could. Enjoy - K.R.I.T.'s upcoming album "Return of 4 Eva" drops March 22.
