These days, all you see and hear on the news is about which country is on the brink of war, the economic crisis and other information that drives fear into your everyday life. I’m tired of hearing nothing but bad news, that’s why I decided to write about positive and inspiring stories that are overlooked by the mainstream media in "It's All Good". This week....

A group of teenagers called the “Burrito Boyz” have made and delivered more than 33,000 burritos to the homeless in San Diego, and it all started after a long Christmas wish list. According to CBS News, two years ago, when Alec, who is now one of the Burrito Boyz, packed his Christmas wish list with expensive high tech gadgets that he wanted as presents. Alec’s dad, decided that he needed to install some perspective into his son’s life and signed him and his family up to feed the homeless. The family and Alec’s friend Luke went on to wrap 54 egg-and-cheese burritos one Sunday in November and hand them out to the homeless.

More than 130 Sundays later, their Hunger 2 Help nonprofit is still rolling up the good will. The group has grown to seven boys and other volunteers who all help make tortilla-wrapped meals for the homeless. The boys operate out of Michael’s business and distribute the food to a neighborhood in need.



"Anything can happen if you take the first step," the dad told Yahoo. "I’m shocked at what’s happened with this little project. Now there’s a major impact."

The service was originally only supposed to last for a few months, but because it was a big hit and because more people got involved it grew into something big. Michael has the kids working with assembly-line precision. "We have somebody scoop the eggs, have somebody ... on the cheese,” he explained to NBC San Diego in 2011. “And then folders, we put in a pan and then we put it right in the oven.”

The boyz have worked over 149 consecutive Sundays to help feed the homeless. It just goes to show that you don’t need to make a huge sacrifice to give back and make a positive impact in your community.
